Funding
The Network has limited funding to promote its activities and so is mainly aimed at encouraging initial collaboration between research groups via the exchange of postdoctoral researchers and/or postgraduates.
Other eligible funding includes (a) Network related visits/activities by task group leaders, and (b) postgraduate attendance of any Network event (usually limited to a maximum bursary of £50 per person).
When completing a claim form (pdf, 784k) (non academic expenses claim form and another form listing expenses) note the following:
- All expenses claimed must be accompanied by an appropriate receipt (not a credit card receipt).
- You must attach a separate summary of the list of expenses and brief details of the visit: i.e. dates, location, purpose of visit and outcomes. Explain very briefly how this trip was Network related and what, if any, task group it was related to.
- Unless stated otherwise, for all exchange visits the Network will contribute only: £120 (max) towards travel, £25 per day (no overnight stay) or £40 per day (overnight stay) subsistence, and £80 per night accommodation costs, to a maximum of £300. It is expected that either the host and/or the visiting institution will contribute the balance.
- For all other agreed visits, use the above figures as a guide to your overall claim for which all agreed/reasonable costs will be met.
