• Material characterisation: SEM, TEM, HRTEM, PCS, AFM, Raman, UV/Vis spectroscopy.
Materials synthesis: we use a range of techniques to synthesise a range of gold, silver and gold-silver core shell nanoparticles ranging from microwave assisted, ultra-violet light induced, sonolysis e.t.c. and deposit these nanoparticles onto materials surfaces via aerosol assisted chemical vapour deposition. The technique has application for optical tuning of semiconductor surfaces to make more active photocatalysts.
